The programme will include an exciting setting of Shakespeare's words from Macbeth, Double, double toil and trouble by the Finnish composer Jaakko Mäntyjärvi. Norwegian Ola Gjeilo is represented by two of his most gorgeous pieces, Northern Lights and The Spheres. In contrast, two pieces by Frode Fjellheim, also from Norway, are inspired by the traditional Sami yoik. The final Norwegian in the programme is Grieg and the concert will include two of his pieces including the beautiful Ave Maris Stella. The programme will also include a range of music from Denmark and Sweden, and there will also be four stunningly beautiful Icelandic songs.
