Five heavenly voices sing medieval, classical, folk, contemporary and a cappella.

“Five extraordinary voices … went down a storm” (Sarah Walker, BBC Radio 3)

No props, microphones or gimmicks, just five stunning female voices whose members have worked with the UK's leading ensembles including The Sixteen and Tenebrae. Weaving together classical music, medieval chants, folk and contemporary ballads and new commissions from around the world, Papagena's refreshing programming defies pigeonholing. The group has performed throughout the UK, broadcast on BBC Radio 3 In Tune and BBC Radio 4 Woman's Hour and released its chart topping album, The Darkest Midnight in 2018!

“Hushed, beautifully controlled and deeply moving … They interweave their fine voices like the strands of an exquisite tapestry” (Shropshire Music Trust)

“You will be, as I was, instantly hooked by the bewitching sound of Papagena” (John Quinn, www.music-webinternational.com, 2018)
